Introduction
Department of Post is giving preference
to improving
facilities in the suburban areas. As a part of extending and improving
services, new Post Offices are being opened and Branch Post Offices are
upgraded as Sub Post Offices.
Apart from upgrading Branch Post Offices to Sub Post Offices in the suburbs,
new buildings are being constructed in those places where the POs functioned
from rented premises. The idea is
improving
basic infrastructure to provide better services to residents of the
suburban areas.
