metro cities on the next day before noon under Speed Post Gold Service and
it is available as a ‘next day noon service’ .
'One India, One Rate' (Domestic Tariff)
As a part of 20th
anniversary of introduction of Speed Post during this year, Department of
Posts has launched a new scheme 'One India, One Rate'
Speed Post.
Highlights of this scheme are listed below.
- New weight slab of 'upto 50 grams' will be
maintained.
- Speed Post tariff under this scheme will be Rs.25
for the first weight slab of 'upto 50 grams', irrespective of the
distance. However, in respect of 'local', the current Speed Post rate
structure will be continued.
- The new tariff of Rs.25 for the weight slab of upto
50 grams (other than local articles) will be inclusive of Service Tax and
Educational Cess, irrespective of the distance involved. As such, the rate
is all inclusive and the customer will pay just Rs. 25/-
- The new scheme is effective from 21st August 2006.
Local Speed Post @ Rs.12/-
Local Speed Post rate has been slashed to Rs.12/- with effect
from 11th June 2007.
